When it came to fighting the common cold, flu symptoms, and even boosting your immune system, Grandma inherently knew what was best for you.  A cup of warm water laced with two tablespoons of fresh lemon and one teaspoon of honey was a recipe in her arsenal of “cure all” remedies, and they worked too!   Sipping a cup daily, solidified the importance of honey as a preventative measure for warding off the sniffles, congestion and scratchy throats throughout cold season.

Guess what else that “old wives” concoction was good for?  Would you believe a strong body cleanse that would also kick your metabolism into high gear?  That’s right!  The moment you wake up in the morning, heat eight ounces of water and add the same ingredients above.  It’s guaranteed to clean out your system and sustain a healthy weight when taken daily.

Now, if you would rather reduce stomach fat instead, substitute the lemon with one half teaspoon of organic, ground cinnamon into a cup of boiling water first thing in the morning and watch the fat slowly begin to disappear.  Abdominal fat is very sensitive to cinnamon, plus, it will balance your blood sugar and kick-start your metabolism.  Make sure you let the cinnamon steep covered for about fifteen minutes before adding the honey for best results.

If you’re having difficulty with digestion, here’s another remedy.  Ginger will not only boost your metabolism, but stabilize your blood sugar, help with proper digestion, favorably utilize calories, and help burn off fat.  To prepare, use one tablespoon of fresh, organic ginger, simmer in two cups of hot water and then add one teaspoon of honey.  Drink right away and at least twenty minutes before a meal for true effectiveness.

Never fool with “Mother Nature” and Grandmas … they know that organic and all natural is the only way to stay healthy, and that goes for honey.  Make sure yours is raw and organic for the very best results.
