A surprising twist in the story of BGMI making downloads. Battleground Mobile India, popularly known as BGMI, disappeared from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store on Thursday. Battlegrounds Mobile India developer krafton has not made any formal statement on this yet. BGMI hit 100 million users earlier this month, but its journey to enter India’s gaming market hasn’t been an easy one. krafton launched BGMI in 2020 to get rid of the PUBG Mobile ban in India.

Google gave this reason to remove BGMI

krafton is currently investigating the situation but Google has confirmed that Battlegrounds Mobile India’s takedown is the result of government orders. “Upon receipt of the order, following established procedure, we have notified the affected developer,” Google said in a statement.

Meanwhile, the delisting of Battlegrounds Mobile also points to the incident in which a young boy allegedly shot his mother in Lucknow. An inquiry was ordered after the incident, but nothing concrete has come out so far. However, it is not clear whether Battlegrounds Mobile India’s removal from the App Store for Android and iOS platforms is related to the incident.
