Unmukt Chand, the Indian cricketer who led the Under-19 team to victory in the prestigious World Cup tournament 12 years ago, is set to join the USA cricket team in March 2024. He has completed all the rules required to play for the USA team. Unmukt Chand will participate in the T20 World Cup 2024 where India and the USA are in the same group.
Currently, 30 years old, Unmukt’s notable achievement was captaining India in the Under-19 World Cup win in 2012, scoring 111 runs in the final against Australia. Despite playing for IPL teams like Delhi, Rajasthan, and Mumbai, he didn’t secure a spot in the senior Indian team. After retiring from Indian cricket, Unmukt now plays in T20 leagues in Australia, Bangladesh, and the USA.
Although he hasn’t made his international debut yet, Unmukt, being a skilled T20 player, is expected to be part of the USA T20 World Cup squad. His chance to face India arises on June 12, and he has expressed his desire to play against his former team and teammates. It will indeed be an interesting moment in his cricket journey.
