The T20 captaincy for Team India has been a source of ongoing debate. During Rohit Sharma’s absence, Hardik Pandya took charge in the T20 format, while Suryakumar Yadav stepped in due to his injury. However, both are currently sidelined due to injuries, and Rohit Sharma remains the captain across all three formats.

A recent controversy surfaced when Hardik Pandya’s image was used instead of Rohit Sharma’s in the T20 World Cup India-Pakistan match poster, courtesy of broadcaster Star Sports. This incident created a problem among the supporters.

Scheduled for June 9 in New York, the India-Pakistan T20 World Cup match is a high-voltage event set to take place in the United States for the first time. ICC officials believe that this match will contribute to the expansion of cricket in the United States of America. However, the excitement surrounding the announcement was overshadowed by controversy due to the poster issue.

Usually, team captains are featured on match posters, yet the poster shared by Star Sports on January 5 showcased Shaheen Afridi for Pakistan and Hardik Pandya for India, fueling further controversy and leaving many fans confused. The use of players’ images instead of captains on the poster generated dissatisfaction among cricket enthusiasts.
