After being shot, the teenager hid the dead body of the mother for two days. Apart from the teenager and his mother, 9-year-old younger sister was present in the house.
According to the report, on the night of Sunday 5 June, the teenager was playing PUBG game on mobile. During this, the mother forbade the child to play the game and both of them started arguing. During the argument, the child shot the mother in the head with her father’s licensed revolver. According to the forensic report, the mother died on the spot due to bullet injuries. Teenagers are said to be addicted to playing mobile games.
According to the police, the child used room freshener so that the dead body of the mother did not smell, so that her younger sister and neighbors would not know.
Lucknow’s Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police said that on Tuesday evening, the child told his father about the incident after the foul odor emanating from the dead body was high. The father of the child is an army man and is posted in West Bengal. On getting the information, the father called the neighbor and asked him to inform the police.

The child’s father told the same thing to the police, but after investigation it was found that the story told by the child is completely concocted. After being taken into custody, the child told about the whole incident. The child is currently in police custody and is being interrogated.

However, this is not the first incident when gaming addiction has resulted in someone’s life. Even before this, in many cases, teenagers have taken their lives due to gaming addiction. In December 2021, the Ministry of Education had described the growing addiction of mobile gaming among children as dangerous.
Children from metro cities to villages are being affected due to the addiction of gaming. For this, the central government had also issued an advisory for the parents and guardians of the children and warned how the addiction of online gaming can be dangerous for the children.
According to the advisory, serious gaming addiction has been called a gaming disorder. The game is designed in such a way that each level is more complex and difficult than the previous level. Because of which the players playing the game try to push their limits and move forward in the game. These things make children playing games mentally etc.
