Higher education regulators of UGC, AICTE gave advice Indian students including foreign nationals of India do not have to go to Pakistan for higher education. University Grants Commission (UGC) and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) released a joint notification.

UGC, AICTE said, “All concerned are advised not to travel to Pakistan for pursuing higher education. Any Indian national/foreign national of India seeking admission in any degree college/educational institution in Pakistan will not be eligible for employment or higher studies in India on the basis of such educational qualification (in any subject) acquired in Pakistan.”

UGC, AICTE “However, expatriates and their children who have obtained a degree of higher education in Pakistan and after seeking employment in India have been awarded citizenship by India. Obtaining security clearance from MHA.”
